Clark County seeking applicants for boards

Clark County is seeking applicants for two advisory boards and the county planning commission.

• The Clark County council is accepting applications and nominations to fill a vacancy on the planning commission. The appointment starts immediately and continues through December 2018. The commission, a seven-member group, makes recommendations to the council on land-use planning, zoning and development issues in unincorporated Clark County. The applicant may live anywhere in the county.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. July 1.

• The county manager is seeking a member for the telecommunications commission, which advises the county council and Vancouver City Council on cable television and telecommunications issues. Applicants must be Clark County residents. The term runs through March 31, 2017.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. June 25.

To be considered for either position, submit a letter of interest and résumé to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Councilors, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Applicants may also send material to Jennifer.Clark@clark.wa.gov or fax to 360-397-6058.

• The county is also accepting applications for the Animal Control Advisory Board. The board reports to the county council and Vancouver City Council on animal issues. The applicant may live anywhere in Clark County. The term ends Oct. 21, 2019.

Applications must be sent to Animal Protection and Control at P.O. Box 9810, Vancouver, WA 98666-9810, or dropped off at the department office on the third floor of the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin St.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. July 17.
