Burgerville chairman Tom Mears has been appointed to an at-large position on the executive committee of Identity Clark County, a nonprofit business advocacy group he helped found in 1993. Mears became president and CEO of the Vancouver-based fast-food chain in 1982 and was named chairman in 2008.

Tami Nesburg also joins Identity Clark County as its executive committee secretary. She is executive vice president and regional manager of Regents Bank, and has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry.

Joseph Vance, an attorney in the Vancouver office of Miller, Nash, Graham & Dunn, is listed among the 2015 Washington Super Lawyers by a Thomson Reuters rating service. The list is composed of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. In the annually published ratings, no more than 5 percent of the attorneys in the state are selected. Vance lives in Ridgefield.

Johnson Bixby & Associates, a financial planning firm with offices in Vancouver and Longview, has hired Robert Okada as an investment strategist. Okada most recently worked as portfolio manager at the Okada Group and O2 Capital Management. Previously, he was vice president in Smith Barney’s mortgage products group and a fixed income specialist with Salomon Brothers.

New businesses

Opus School of Music is planning a June 22 opening of its second location at 726 Second Ave. in Camas, formerly home to Deja Vu consignment boutique. Renovations will create six soundproof classrooms. Opus offers instruction to students of all ages and instrument rentals. www.opusschoolofmusic.com

The School of Piano Technology for the Blind has partnered with Classic Pianos of Portland and will offer new Yamaha pianos in its showroom at 2510 E. Evergreen Blvd. The school will earn a commission for each piano sold.
