Southwest Washington Behavioral Health is hosting a poster contest in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, which is May.

The contest, with the theme “Visions of Recovery,” is part of an ongoing effort to reduce stigma associated with mental health and substance use issues. It reinforces the message that people can and do recover from mental illness and addiction.

Any person who lives or works in Clark, Cowlitz or Skamania counties is eligible to participate. Winners will be selected in two categories: youth (17 and younger) and adults. Gift certificate prizes of $50, $25 and $10 will be given to the top three in each category.

Completed artwork, submitted in an 18-by-24-inch format, must be delivered by 5 p.m. April 27. In Clark County, entries can be submitted to Southwest Washington Behavioral Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Building 17, Suite C 214.

Contest rules and entry forms are available at www.swbh.org and 360-397-8222.

The public can view entries and cast votes for their favorites May 22 and 23 at Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.
