Gasoline prices dropped slightly this week in Vancouver and statewide, AAA Oregon/Idaho reported Tuesday.

Vancouver’s average price for gasoline sits at $2.90 a gallon, down from $2.93 one week ago. Washington had the nation’s sixth-highest average price at $2.82 per gallon, down two cents. Oregon was a notch above, coming in fifth-highest at $2.85 per gallon, down by three cents for the week. California reported the nation’s most expensive gasoline at $3.35 a gallon, down eight cents.

The national average dropped three cents, to $2.42 per gallon, AAA reported.

“West Coast markets have seen particularly dramatic run-ups over the last several weeks due to a number of supply issues,” AAA said. “An explosion last month at ExxonMobil’s refinery in Torrance, Calif., has kept that facility running at severely reduced rates. Production at Tesoro’s refinery in Martinez, Calif., remained limited as it aimed to restart after recent planned maintenance.”
