Runners from Clark County won all three races during the first Couve Clover Run.

A total of 575 runners and walkers completed one of the three courses during the St. Patrick’s Day-themed event. The Sunday event started and finished in downtown Vancouver.

The 3-mile course was the most popular of the three, with 316 finishing the course. Thomas Normandean, 18, of Washougal, won that race with a time of 16 minutes and 11 seconds. Aubri Squires, 23, of Battle Ground, was the first woman to finish the 3-miler. Her time of 20:18 was eighth fastest overall.

In the 7-mile race, Rolf Vellek of Vancouver led 164 runners and walkers to the finish line. Vellek, 45, finished with a time of 45 minutes and 19 seconds. Jody Beach of Washougal, 31, was the first woman and second overall with a time of 49:36.

Tyler Davis of Vancouver won the 10-mile race with a time of 1 hour, 7 minutes and 13 seconds. He was more than three minutes ahead of runner-up Steve Hill from Benicia, Calif. Six of the top 10 finishers in the 10-miler were from Clark County, including women’s champion Kristen Morin of Brush Prairie who finished eighth overall in 1:20:06.

A total of 95 runners, 57 of them female, finished the 10-mile course.

A portion of entry fees from the Couve Clover Run will benefit area non-profit organizations. Participants were able to select a favorite charity to support.

The Couve Clover Run is the latest event staged by Why Racing Events. The new event logistics company is owned by Northwest Personal Training owner Sherri McMillan, founder of the Girlfriends Run for the Cure.
