Letter: Keep Vancouver friendly

The Columbian
Published: March 29, 2015, 12:00am

Thirteen years ago we moved to Vancouver from Las Vegas and started a new life. We had great jobs, a wonderful home and were greatly amused by the keep the area weird theme. We know it’s “keep Portland weird,” but weird overflows to Vancouver. There are so many things we enjoyed, the parks, the schools, Pearson Field Education Center, the many fine eateries, the political theater and the tax-free lifestyles of Oregon and Washington. We have met so many great friends and co-workers. We enjoy the mild year-round weather, the mountains, the rivers, and ocean beaches. We are now both retired and busy enjoying life in the Pacific Northwest. There is no other place that is so weird, amusing, entertaining and enjoyable.

We just want to say thank you all for making Southwest Washington a wonderful, entertaining place to live. For those of you who say “please come and visit but don’t stay,” sorry, this is a wonderful area and we will not leave any time soon.
