Prep roundup: Buck’s hit in 7th lifts Battle Ground to win

Skyview rallies for two in top of 7th, but Tigers still win

Haley Buck singled home Morgan Stradley with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Battle Ground softball team to a 3-2 win over Skyview on Friday.

The win allowed the Tigers to stay a half-game behind Camas in the 4A Greater St. Helens League.

Battle Ground won after Skyview rallied to tie the game with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Battle Ground pitcher Parker Boyd threw six scoreless innings. But in the seventh, Kayla Moore belted a two-run home run to tie the game.

In the bottom of the seventh, Stradley walked with one out and advanced to second on a sacrifice. Then, Buck lined a shot into center field to score Stradley with the winning run.

Parker struck out 12 in seven innings of work.

• Drew Moore, Columbia River baseball, went 3 for 3 with a double and RBI and scored twice in the Chieftains’ 10-6 win at Tumwater.

• Amila Gogalija and Emillie Kuo, Mountain View tennis, completed a 3-0 week at No. 1 doubles with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Union, helping the Thunder to a 4-2 team victory.

• Saige Keep, La Center baseball, was 2 for 3 with four RBI in an 8-5 win at Kalama.

• Amber Griffith, Hockinson softball, hit three doubles and had four RBI in a win over Hudson’s Bay.

• Cayne Cardwell, Camas soccer, scored two goals and assisted on another as Camas beat Battle Ground 3-1.

• Hunter Bruno, Camas baseball, went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBI as Camas scored 10 in the sixth to beat Evergreen 11-2.

• Trevor Huddleston, Woodland baseball, went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI and pitched the Beavers to a 9-6 over R.A. Long.

• Sam Rice, Ridgefield softball, went 2 for 5 with a double and home run as the Spudders beat Washougal 11-1.

• Anna Aguon and Morgan Spieth, Union softball, both went 3 for 3 with two runs and an RBI and Union beat Mountain View 6-3.

• Abby England, La Center softball, went 3 for 5 with three RBI and did not allowed an earned run in seven innings as the Wildcats beat Kalama 9-2.

• Jared Oja, Hockinson baseball, went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI as Hockinson beat Mark Morris 7-3.

• Alec Gawley, Prairie baseball, went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBI as Prairie beat W.F. West 14-10.

• Bailey Alley, Heritage baseball, went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBI as Heritage scored a key 12-6 win over Mountain View.

• Jeremy Martin, Ridgefield baseball, went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBI as the Spudders beat Hudson’s Bay 10-1.
