About one in five registered voters don’t need to read this story.
After all, look at the numbers. As of Monday, only 48,333 of Clark County’s 251,358 registered voters had returned their ballots, for a 19.2 percent turnout so far. That means there’s still a lot of ballots to be submitted and counted before Clark County hits the 42 percent turnout projected by the Clark County Elections Department.
But there’s still time to close the gap. Polls close at 8 p.m. today. You ensure your ballot makes it to the elections office by taking it directly to one of the following locations:
• The Clark County Elections Department on 1408 Franklin St. in downtown Vancouver. The office is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• One of the three 24-hour drive-up ballot drop boxes, which will close at 8 p.m. There is a box at the intersection of West 14th and Esther streets in downtown Vancouver, one at Battle Ground City Hall at 109 S.W. First St. in Battle Ground, and one at the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center at 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. in east Vancouver.
