Detectives investigating North Portland death

PORTLAND — Homicide detectives are investigating a death in North Portland.

Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers were dispatched Thursday morning on a report that a man was down on a street, unconscious and bleeding.

When they arrived, he was dead. Simpson says the man suffered at least one gunshot wound.

The victim’s identity has yet to be released. Witnesses are asked to call police at 503-823-3333.
