Missing autistic 16-year-old found safe

The Vancouver Police Department has located a 16-year-old boy with autism who had gone missing earlier Friday evening.

Eddie Hawks, 16, went missing shortly after 6 p.m. in the area of Northeast 112th Avenue and Northeast Ninth Street, northeast of Mill Plain and Interstate 205.

Police combed the area and enlisted the aid of volunteers to assist in the search. The teen was found safe at about 9:30 p.m.
