Police officers arrested a Battle Ground man late Wednesday night on suspicion of burglary, and police said the man was trying to gain access to Uncle D’s Wood Fired Pizza in Battle Ground by throwing a chair through one of the business’ windows.
Just before midnight Wednesday, a witness called 911 to report seeing a man who appeared to be trying to break into the business, at East Main Street and North Parkway, according to the Battle Ground Police Department.
The man fled on foot when officers arrived, but was later caught nearby.
Shawn C. White, 34, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
The department said detectives are investigating similar criminal activity in the area, and are working to determine whether White is connected.
