Letter: Limbaugh unsilenced conservatism

My radio hero is Rush Limbaugh. He has been on national radio since 1988. Since he has come along, conservatives have a voice in major media. Limbaugh is playing a role in reshaping the U.S. political landscape.

Before 1988, liberals controlled the media, and conservatives were out. Limbaugh came along when a huge audience was dying to hear someone who thinks like he does, strictly American conservatism. He has been a sounding board ever since to the hearts of those long-ignored conservatives. The liberals hate his running down of their stupid ideas, but what really gets their dander up is that his success means there’s no going back to the old days when impudent conservatives had no place on the national “say so.” The liberal Democrats are bent on getting Limbaugh’s voice off the radio.

Limbaugh mixes his biting right-wing commentary with humor and bragging. As Limbaugh likes to say, it’s not bragging if you can do it.

Oh, by the way, how is that Obama thing working for you so far?
