Prep highlights: King’s Way Christian soccer beats Seton Catholic

Kate Roseburrough and MacKenzie Ellertson scored unassisted goals to lead the King’s Way Christian girls soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Seton Catholic in a battle of unbeaten teams in the 1A Trico League.

The Knights improved to 5-0-0 in the Trico and claimed sole possession of first place in the league.

King’s Way also got a goal on an own goal after an Ellertson shot rebounded off a Seton defender.

Stars of the day

• Silas Griffith, Ridgefield cross country, led the Spudders to victory over Hockinson, winning in 16 minutes, 27 seconds.

• Lexie Rutherford, Ridgefield cross country, won in 21:04 as the Spudders scored 22 points to beat Hockinson.

• Jackson Guffey and Tyler Jones, Skyview boys golf, each shot 1-over 37s at Tri-Mountain to lead the Storm over Battle Ground.

• Makena Wilcox and Kara Noftsker, Columbia River girls swimming, both won two individual race and swam on two winning relays as River beat Skyview, Hudson’s Bay, Hockinson and Fort Vancouver.

• Dillon Franke, Woodland boys golf, shot a 2-over 37 at Lewis River to led the Beavers over Washougal.

• Brian Humphreys, Camas boys golf, shot a 1-under 35 at Camas Meadows to lead the Papermakers over Heritage.

• Hayden Meeker, Union golf, shot a 1-under 35 at Green Mountain in the Titans’ win over Evergreen.

• Shelby Vermeulen, La Center girls soccer, had two goals, one assist and seven saves in goal to lead the Wildcats past Castle Rock.

• Taylor Kernion, Skyview girls soccer, scored four goals and added an assist in the Storm’s 7-0 win over Heritage.
