Landover-Sharmel — Endeavour Elementary School Art Discovery coordinator Shae Cecka learned that her scheduled art class at the school coincided with “crazy hair day” at the school, so decided to meld the two. The monthly art theme was “Liberty Enlightening the World,” so she styled her hair into a green crown and helped her students create their own crowns and torches.

Art Discovery volunteer Kate Altenhof-Long said, “Art history comes alive when students learn and then also get to participate in a hands-on activity and also have their very own living Statue of Liberty lead the lesson!”
