Larnell Malik Bruce, 19, was fleeing an altercation Wednesday outside 7-Eleven, 18735 E. Burnside St., when he was run over by a 1991 Jeep Wrangler, according to the Gresham Police Department.

Bruce was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but police said he died on Saturday as a result of his injuries.

Following the incident, police arrested the Wrangler’s driver, 39-year-old Russel Courtier, and passenger, 35-year-old Colleen Hunt, who face charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, according to police. Each are being held at a Multnomah County detention facility in lieu of more than $500,000 bail.

Investigators said they have notified the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office of the development in the case and said that the agency will consider additional charges.

Gofundme campaign has been started to help defray medical and funeral expenses.
