Vancouver Victory FC recorded its first Western Indoor Soccer League victory on Saturday, a 5-2 win over the host Snohomish Skyhawks at the Snohomish Soccer Dome.

Zak Naylor and Jerson Mejia scored two goals apiece and Samir Vejo also scored for the Victory.

The Victory lost top scorer Jared Brace to a broken leg in the match. Starting goalkeeper Arne Niermann left the match with a hand injury. Zach Morris made his debut with the Victory in place of Niermann.

Morris, a 17-year-old Camas resident, allowed one goal in the second half to help Vancouver secure its first win.

The Victory (1-4) are idle until Jan. 16 when they visit the Tacoma Stars Reserves. Vancouver’s next home match is at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 against Bellingham United at Clark County Indoor.
