Patron tours planned at MLK Elementary, VSAA

Vancouver — Vancouver Public Schools Superintendent Steve Webb will host a patron tour with visits to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School and Vancouver School of Arts and Academics on Jan. 22.

The tour of King Elementary School will highlight the school’s Family-Community Resource Center, community partnerships, Advancement Via Individual Determination program and early childhood learning program.

At VSAA, visitors will visit art, music and dance classrooms showcasing the integration of arts and academics in a focused learning community.

The free tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Bates Center for Educational Leadership, 2921 Falk Road, and will end at 1 p.m.

Participants will have the option of enjoying a student musical performance and a lunch prepared by culinary arts students. Lunch is $4.
