Eric Wu won two individual events, including one in state-qualifying time, to lead the Camas boys swimming team to victory at the Southwest Washington Invitational in Longview on Saturday.

It was an odd day at Mark Morris High School’s pool as a heavy downpour of rain in the area caused the septic system to back up and sewage leaked out onto the pool’s deck surface.

The meet had to be suspended as the issue was resolved and the mess cleaned up.

Camas earned the team title with 602.5 points, outdistancing second-place Mountain View (545).

Wu won the 200-yard individual medley in 4A state-qualifying time of 2 minutes, 0.95 seconds. Camas swept that event with Tom Utas and Austin Fogel following their teammate to the wall.

Camas also won the 200 free relay (1:33.79) and 400 free relay (3:28.08).

Wu also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.69.

Andrew Chang of Union also won two events. He won the 100 butterfly in 4A state-qualifying time of 53.53 seconds. Columbia River’s Josh Bottelberghe was second in a 3A state-qualifying time of 53.67 seconds.

Chang also won the 100 backstroke in 56.20 seconds.

Mountain View’s 200 medley relay team of Gabriel Fassler, Chris Joa, Michael Suk and Stuart Sardo) won in a state-qualifying time of 1:37.39.

Washougal’s Isaah Ross won two events — the 200 free (1:54.59) and 500 free (5:07.05). Heritage’s Maksim Dolbinin won the 100 free (49.95), and Bottelberghe won the 50 free (22.94).
