The Vancouver Victory needed only to win its home finale to clinch the Evergreen Premier League soccer title.

However, the Spokane Shadow had other ideas as they won the match 3-2 on Saturday night at Harmony Sports Complex. The go-ahead goal was scored in the 70th minute following a red card to Vancouver.

Vancouver (9-1-2) has another change to wrap up the title as it plays the Olympic Force (2-7-3) at Bremerton today. It can also win the title with a Bellingham loss or tie.

Spokane (7-4-1), which has won the last two EPL titles, led 2-1 at halftime against the Victory.

Erik Urzua scored on a penalty kick for Vancouver in the first half.

Vancouver’s tying goal was scored by Christo Michaelson off a free kick from Antonio Porreco in the 65th minute.
