Save the Date: More Fun Days, musical fun, books and Get Outdoors Day

• Head to Hockinson for the community’s annual Hockinson Fun Days, starting things off with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at Fire District 3, 17718 N.E. 159th St., Brush Prairie, with $5 per person, $15 per family. The fire station will also host an open house, with demonstrations, information and more. There will be a country fair carnival from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. in the Hockinson Middle school parking lot, 17912 N.E. 159th St. The Fun Days parade starts at noon from Hockinson High School. It runs east along Northeast 159th Street before heading north to 182nd Avenue and 164th Street as bands, floats, vintage cars and more participate. • Vancouver USA Singers ends its season with some choral high jinks and medley fun with PDQ in the ‘Couve. The concerts include “The Seasons” by P.D.Q Bach, a fictitious composer invented by musical satirist Peter Schickele, along with pieces from “O Brother Where Art Thou” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Catch the fun at 7 tonight and 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main St., Vancouver. Get Outdoors Day returns from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. There will be activities like fishing, archery and rock climbing, along with information booths and food vendors along East Fifth Street near the Pearson Air Museum. Camtown Youth Festival returns from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11 at Crown Park, Northeast 15th and Everett streets, Camas. This celebration of being a kid, features a variety of games, crafts and entertainment aimed at ages 3 to 16. Kids can sign up to participate in the children’s flea market. www.cityofcamas.us/parks

• Vintage Books will host its free Sunday Sessions for Writers at 2 p.m. June 12 featuring a panel on writing with young adult authors Paula Stokes, Fonda Lee and Mary Elizabeth Summer. The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad will bring out its 1929 steam locomotive for Father’s Day Weekend, with scenic trips at noon and 2:30 p.m. June 18 and 19, departing from the Yacolt station, 207 N. • Gear up for the Recycled Arts Festival as it returns 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 25 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 26 at Esther Short Park. 150 artists create sculptures, artworks and more using at least 70 percent recycled materials.
