Hazel Dell South — Before graduating from Hazel Dell Elementary School, Sarah Payne wanted to do something positive for her school. She came up with Sarah’s Give Back Campaign, where friends, family and classmates would sponsor her while she completed laps running, swimming and horseback riding, three of her favorite activities. Through the campaign, she raised $700, which will go to the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools, specifically marked for Hazel Dell Elementary School. To start her triathlon, Sarah swam 50 laps. She followed that up by running 16 laps around a track and riding 14 laps around Battle Ground Lake on horseback, which took around eight hours. She then ran 20 more laps to give her an even 100 laps during the campaign.
