Investigators have been unable to confirm the identity of someone found dead in the wreckage of an early Tuesday fire that destroyed a mobile home north of La Center.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office said the remains were too badly burned to confirm the victim’s identity using typical means.

Firefighters responding after a 12:30 a.m. 911 call arrived at a mobile home engulfed in flames at 1505 N.W. 379th St.

While firefighters were mopping up, they found an adult’s body.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office said the fire burned so intensely investigators were unable to make a definitive determination as to what caused it, but there was no indication of foul play.
