Happy Mother’s Day! I hope all of the moms out there are getting the royal treatment today.
One day of celebration isn’t enough in my opinion. Momhood requires a lot of love, stamina and humor, and we should acknowledge mothers’ hard work on more than one day of the year. Find out what makes your mom happy and follow up with random acts of happiness all year. If mama ain’t happy, nobody’s happy.
If you need a little help figuring out how to spark moments of maternal joy, I’d like to offer the library’s assistance. Whether Mom likes to tend a garden or ride a Harley, the library has something for everyone. To get you started, I’ve put together a sample of titles from some of the most popular, “make-Mom-happy” areas, as well as a couple of more eclectic categories. And be sure to visit one of the branches and browse the shelves or search www.fvrl.org for more ideas. Hip, hip, hooray to mothers!
