2A GSHL football: Hockinson 35, Mark Morris 0

Canon Racanelli threw five touchdown passes, three of them to Matt Henry as the Hawks rolled to a 2A Greater St. Helens League win in Longview.

“That first game against La Center, Matt had a big game,” Hockinson coach Rick Steele said. “So then teams started double-teaming Matt, and that opened things up for Sawyer Racanelli to have some big games. Tonight, they were double-teaming Sawyer, and Matt had a big game. Whe you’ve got a good receiving corps, it’s hard to cover them all.”

Henry finished with three catches for 137 yards. Canon Racanelli completed 12 of 18 passes for 280 yards.

“This was the first game all year we put together a complete game defensively,” Steele said. “And it was also the first time we were able to run the ball. We made some changes on the offensive line, and they seemed to work. The 125 yards we rushed for was by far the most we’ve had all season.”
