Stevenson — Ted Klump earned a special mention in the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission’s 2016 Volunteer Recognition Awards. Klump was honored for his volunteer work at Beacon Rock State Park in Stevenson.

State parks staff nominate volunteers for the awards, and a staff committee reviews the nominations to make final selections. Honorees will be presented their awards during commission meetings or special occasions over the next couple of months.

“They care deeply about the parks and work hard to assist park staff to keep the park system running,” Cindy Jorgensen, volunteer program manager with the state parks commission, said in a release. “With a wide range of interests, they help with everything from assisting in the office to boots on the ground in the parks.”
