Teen blamed for causing three-car crash

Girl injured in accident near Stevenson

A teenage driver was blamed for causing a three-car crash west of Stevenson, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The 17-year-old girl, whose name was not released, was reported injured in the crash, which occurred at 5:30 a.m. today on state Highway 14, 2 miles east of town. The girl, who is from Stevenson, was taken to a Vancouver hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, according to troopers.

According to troopers, the girl’s eastbound SUV crossed the center line of the highway and struck a pickup driven by Daniel A. Pettit, 43, of Carson, and a car driven by Sterling Morat, 31, also of Carson. Neither man was reported injured.

No tickets were issued pending further investigation.
