Letter: Inslee, Ferguson stand up for us

We’ve gotten ourselves in a fix. Mistakes were made and it’s time we accepted our roles in the fiasco. I could have done some campaigning, but felt that there was no way the election would turn out the way it did. That is on me. I’m not alone in the blame game. People who didn’t vote gave their tacit approval and that is on them.

Although Lou Brancaccio’s message about not doing stupid stuff was directed at elected officials, I find the message applies to the electorate, as well. We weren’t smart enough to see what was happening. We need a better educational system. We seem to lack critical thinking skills and the discipline to detect when we are being conned. Things are not always as they appear.

In a couple of years we can elect people who’ll stand up to our con man-in-chief. In four years we can better rectify the mistake made in the last election. In the meantime, keep protesting, organizing, writing our representatives, and campaigning not only for better representation but for better education, the repeal of the Electoral College, the end to gerrymandering, the overhaul to the campaign finance system, the subpoenaing of tax records, and the impeachment of president con man.

I’d like to thank Gov. Jay Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson for standing up for us.
