Clark County — The Clark County Food Bank raised more than $40,000 at its fourth annual Tacos & Taps fundraiser on Cinco de Mayo. That money will provide roughly 160,000 meals for food-insecure people around the county.

The food bank’s 27,000-square-foot facility was transformed into a fiesta for the occasion and hosted 500 guests. Forty-two of them signed up to give monthly to the food bank through its Hunger Heroes program.

Guests sampled gourmet tacos and craft beers from the 31 food vendors. There was also live music, raffles and a photo booth.

Given how many people participated in the event, Executive Director Alan Hamilton said in a news release: “It’s obvious that local businesses and individuals are eager to help those in our community who struggle with hunger.”
