VANCOUVER – Marlene Ashworth, leadership development manager for Clark County Food Bank, shared a presentation about alleviating hunger and its root causes at Clark County Newcomers Club’s monthly coffee and business meeting on Feb. 6. Clark County Newcomers Club members answered the call by bringing nonperishable donations to the meeting. In addition, there are two teams of volunteers from Clark County Newcomers Club that donate their time each week at the food bank. This is just one of the ways the club fulfills its mission to foster friendships and support local charities and service endeavors. Monthly coffees and brief membership meetings are held at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 805 S.E. Ellsworth Road.
