A Battle Ground man was cited for failure to yield after his SUV, the rear pilot car for an oversized load, collided with a minivan near Winlock on Thursday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Cruz Salgado Rosales, 33, of Battle Ground was heading north on Interstate 5 around 9:30 a.m.

The load’s convoy was using Exit 63 near Winlock to bypass the state Highway 505 overpass.

Troopers said Rosales failed to yield to traffic on Highway 505, and was struck by a minivan driven by Lisa Coward-Gobey, 48, of Toledo.

Coward-Gobey was injured and taken to Providence Centralia Hospital. Rosales was unhurt and ticketed, the State Patrol reported.
