Letter: Herrera Beutler speaks for us

I’m thankful that we have a representative who cares about this community. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, stands up for what matters to Southwest Washington. Whether speaking against Oregon tolling, addressing the exploding sea lion population, or going to bat for us in D.C., she seems to keep us in mind rather than getting distracted by whatever they’re squabbling about on CNN.

I wonder if her opponent understands what Southwest Washingtonians want. Moving from Oregon shortly before she filed, it appears that she’s just looking for a job. We’re doing fine with Herrera Beutler, thanks. Perhaps Portland would be a better fit for her qualifications and values.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
