Cody Rice’s base hit with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Clark College baseball team to a 4-3 victory over Lane on Tuesday at Kindsfather Field in Vancouver.

The Penguins (15-7, 6-3 NWAC South) tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning on Bryce Roesch’s home run.

With two outs in the 10th, Roesch singled to keep the Penguins alive. Chaz Lopez followed with a four-pitch walk, and Ben Wagner walked after reaching a full count, loading the bases.

Rice then hit the first pitch he saw to bring home the game-winning run.

Roesch was 3 for 5 with the home run, a double and three runs scored.

Clark now travels to Eugene for a Friday doubleheader against Lane (9-13, 3-3), and returns to Kindsfather Field on Saturday to complete the five-game series. Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

SOFTBALL — Clark’s doubleheader at Chemeketa on Tuesday at Salem, Ore., was postponed due to weather. Next for the Penguins (6-14, 4-9) is a home doubleheader against Mt. Hood (17-7, 10-2) beginning at noon on Saturday at the Clark softball field.
