The giving circle 100+ Women Who Care Clark County last month donated $8,300 to Children’s Home Society of Washington’s Washougal location, the first recipient of the group’s donations.

“We’re deeply grateful for the generosity of the women who participated,” Andy Tucker, regional community director of the Children’s Home Society, said in a news release. “Their generous donations will support the East County Family Resource Center to provide emergency assistance to families in need of food, clothing and toiletries, along with parent education and counseling classes for children and families.”

With membership increasing, 100+ Women expects to donate more money to another nonprofit at its upcoming meeting next month. Each member of 100+ Women donates $100 every quarter to a nonprofit voted on by the group.

Tucker will speak at 100+ Women’s May 9 meeting at Salud!, a wine bar in Camas.

Membership is now at 101 women.
