Khalfani Cason had 22 points and 13 rebounds and Brady Metz hit six 3-pointers as King’s Way Christian clinched a berth in the regional round of the state playoffs.

The Knights (13-9) will advance to the district title game against La Center at 8 p.m. Saturday at Kelso High School.

“The two games in district we finished really well,” King’s Way coach Daven Harmeling said. “I reall feel like our non-league schedule helped prepare us for the postseason. Even though our record isn’t very stellar by any means, I think those tough games in December are paying off now. If we had to take those losses early to be where we’re at now, I’d take that any day of the week.”

The Knights got off to a slow start, trailing 19-10 after one quarter. But King’s Way surged ahead 28-25 by halftime.

The Knights opened their lead to seven points after three quarters then pulled away in the fourth.

Metz finished with 20 point for King’s Way.
