Bond measures in the Evergreen and La Center school districts appeared to be passing in Tuesday night’s special election, but the first wave of results shows the Battle Ground bond measure passing but a few percentage points short of the supermajority needed for approval.
All three bond measures require 60 percent of the voters to vote “yes” to pass.
In Evergreen, results from the Clark County Elections Office so far shows that 60.12 percent of voters approved the district’s $695 million bond in construction bonds that would replace schools, build a new school and make district-wide improvements. It would also pay for a new central administrative office.
Results show 65.78 percent of voters in La Center approved a $48 million bond that would build a new middle school and convert the district’s existing K-8 school into an elementary school.
In Battle Ground, 56.91 percent of voters approved the $224.9 million bond to replace schools, build a new school and make improvements across the district. Two years ago, the district asked voters to approve a smaller $80 million bond, which passed but did not have the required 60 percent support for approval.
