The Clark County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday found family members connected to some recovered headstones uncovered at a Hazel Dell apartment complex.

The sheriff’s office took to social media to look for tips after someone flipped two stone slabs near the complex’s trash bins, at 1016 NE 86th St., to find they were grave markers.

Residents told a deputy they had been sitting near the trash bins for six or more years.

One is carved for an Althea B. McMann Richardson, who lived from 1915 to 2001, and the other appears to be a broken couple’s stone. The side recovered has the name Wilbur O., who lived from 1900 to 1986. What appears to be a last name is cut off, leaving the letters “Mese.”

A few hours after soliciting for tips online, the sheriff’s office said it was able to find claimants to the stones.
