Letter: Trump barb aimed at governments

In the Jan. 17. letter “Trump reaches a new low,” the writer claims President Donald Trump has no dignity because he addressed another countries’ citizens using vulgar words.

I do not support the use of profanity. No matter who uses it, it is profane. However, if Trump used the alleged vulgarity, it is clear he was addressing the countries — that is, their governments, not their citizens. As a matter of fact, he financed a medical mission to Haiti.

It appears to me that the letter writer has not kept abreast of the conditions in Haiti.
