Letter: Herrera Beutler out of touch

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, once again, has demonstrated how badly disconnected she is from the people she purports to represent in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. In blindly following a corrupt, immoral and treasonous president, she has chosen to stoop to his level of heartless incompetence. Daily, she demonstrates her unfitness to represent us.

In her latest transgression, she voted for a draconian immigration bill that was soundly defeated by her fellow Republicans. She has now positioned herself to the far right side of the political spectrum. She’s now miles away from the mainstream political mindset in the 3rd District of Washington.

Could it be because she has stopped listening to her constituents? She quit holding real town hall meetings years ago. Now she hides behind a telephone switchboard, inviting only her friends and even screens their questions. When contacted, she sends mush form letters that obfuscate and blame others. In a nutshell, she no longer represents her constituents.
