Five adults, five youths Marshall Awards finalists

Five residents and five high school seniors from Clark County are finalists for General George C. Marshall Public and Youth Leadership Awards.

The award ceremony is at 5:30 p.m. March 21 at Providence Academy, 400 E. Evergreen Blvd.

Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman will be keynote speaker, with special guest Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib, last year’s speaker.

Adult finalists: Cadie Dye, Partners in Careers; Narek Daniyelyan, Clark College; Amy Lodholz, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity; Jamie Spinelli, Community Services Northwest; and Jenny Thompson, Police Activities League of Vancouver.

The recipient will participate in the Leadership Clark County program, tour the Marshall Foundation in Lexington, Va., and visit Washington, D.C.

Youth finalists and high school: Kiara Fehrs, Heritage; Brianna Knode, Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience; Bridgette McCarthy, Washougal; Cornelius Vandermaas, Hockinson; and Hannah Wistrand, Skyview.

The youth award includes a $2,500 college scholarship and a $500 summer internship in the Trust’s Celebrate Freedom office.
