One person was killed when a vehicle struck a pedestrian on state Highway 14, near Columbia House Boulevard, Thursday night.

The crash was reported shortly after 9:15 p.m., across the way from the Fred Meyer shopping complex.

Washington State Patrol spokesman Will Finn said on Twitter one person had been killed in a car-versus-pedestrian crash. The crash had all eastbound lanes blocked, with traffic getting by on the shoulder.

A separate three-car accident resulted from the traffic backup, but no injuries resulted, Finn said.
