Clark County homebuilding shows slight improvement

Home building activity in unincorporated Clark County showed a slight improvement in November. Building permits for single-family homes matched October and showed a strong increase from November 2008. According to a report from the county’s Department of Community Development, 37 permits to build houses where handed out last month. It was a 60.9 percent increase over the 23 permits issued in the same month last year, but down 56 percent from the 84 permits handed out in November 2007. Last month’s housing permits were valued at $7.5 million, up from $4.7 million in the same month last year, the development department said.
