VANCOUVER — Everybody who attends Share’s fundraising dinner Sunday will hear some sweet music and go home with a hand-thrown ceramic bowl.

It’s the ninth annual Share-a-Bowl dinner, set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Skyview High School, 1300 N.W. 139th Street. Doors open at 3:45 p.m.

Northwest ceramics artist Michael Metz will be on hand to discuss his work and show pieces from his collection. And Portland saxophonist Patrick Lamb and pianist Michael Allen Harrison will play for the audience.

The program will include the presentation of the 2010 Emily Marshall Volunteer of the Year Award.

Dinner will include soup, salad, bread, beverages and dessert; each attendee will take home a ceramic bowl by Metz.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children under 5; a table of eight can be reserved for $280. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.sharevancouver.org or call 360-695-7658 ext. 3301.

Proceeds will benefit Share’s Children’s Hunger Initiative, including the Backpack and Summer Lunch Programs, which provide food for children when school doors are closed.

Share, founded in 1979, operates numerous programs for the homeless and hungry, including four shelters, daily meals and financial education.
