Cooler, cloudy weather moving into Washington

SEATTLE (AP) — After one more day of mostly dry, sunny weather, forecasters say clouds will cool things off through the weekend in Washington.

But conditions Wednesday still threaten wildfires on the east slopes of the Cascades where a red flag warning is in effect until 6 p.m.

A fire watch is in effect for most of the rest of Eastern Washington where forecasters say increasing winds on Thursday could fan a wildfire.

The National Weather Service expects high temperatures in Western Washington Wednesday in the 80s, but only in the 60s the rest of the week.

Eastern Washington highs Wednesday are expected in the 90s, dropping off to the 70s through Sunday.
