It’s a season for pancakes and fire engines.

Clark County Fire District 6 firefighters will serve short stacks at Applebee’s in Hazel Dell today to raise money for their annual “Community Youth Holiday Event,” scheduled Thursday at Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School.

A year ago, more than 600 children attended the holiday event at the school.

The pancake breakfast, which includes a tour of a fire engine and a visit with Santa Claus, is staged to raise money for the holiday event. For every $7 admission, $5 goes to “provide help for a family in need this holiday season,” according to a news release announcing the events.

Tickets can be purchased at Fire District 6 headquarters, 8800 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave., or at the door. The flapjacks fundraiser begins at 8 a.m.

Applebee’s is at 816 N.E. 98th Circle.
