Hunt scores 25, Nevada pulls away for 78-64 win

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Dario Hunt had a career-high 25 points to go along with 12 rebounds and five blocks as Nevada beat San Francisco State 78-64 Saturday night.

The Wolf Pack (2-7), who broke a seven-game losing streak, put the game away with a 14-0 run to take a 55-40 lead with 12:50 left.

Marquel Hoskins had 15 points for San Francisco State (5-2), an NCAA Division II school. Nefi Perdomo added 13 points and Ralph Nevarez had 10. The Gators’ only other loss this season was also to a Division I school — Long Beach State — in its season opener.

Deonte Burton added 12 points for Nevada, including a 3-pointer that started the Wolf Pack’s 14-0 surge in the second half. Jerry Evans had five points during the run on a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws.
