Boys basketball: Kaiden Wilson scores 25 as Seton Catholic posts seventh straight win

Cougars fend off Columbia-White Salmon 68-61 to remain alone in first place in Trico League

Freshman Kaiden Wilson scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the second half as the Seton Catholic boys basketball team held off Columbia-White Salmon 68-61 to clinch a playoff berth with a Trico League win in White Salmon.

Brady Angelo added 24 points for the Cougars (11-5, 7-0 Trico League). 

Mason Hamilton had 19 points to lead the Bruins (4-13, 1-5).

STEVENSON 71, CASTLE ROCK 44 — Chris Blackledge scored 38 points in just three quarters of play as Stevenson kept pace with Seton Catholic in the Trico League.

Blackledge hit 10 of Stevenson 13 3-pointers. After a 16-16 first quarter, the Bulldogs took control with a 21-1 edge in the second quarter.

Stevenson (12-3, 6-1 Trico) will face off with Seton Catholic on Thursday and Saturday, two games the Bulldogs likely will need to sweep to claim the Trico League title.

COLUMBIA RIVER 73, WOODLAND 50 — Aaron Hoey led four Rapids in doubles figures with 16 points as River kept pace with first-place Mark Morris in the 2A Greater St. Helens League.

Miles Fitzwilson scored 15 points, Ari Richardson added 12 and Luca Phillips had 10.

Sam Jeschke had 16 points to lead Woodland.
