Body of woman found in canal identified

KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — Officials in Benton County have released the name of a woman found dead Monday in an irrigation canal.

She was 46-year-old Denise E. Cole of Kennewick.

Her name was released by the coroner’s office after family members were notified.

Cole’s body was found just before noon Monday in a Columbia Irrigation District canal. The cause of death is unknown and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
