Black Monday is just ahead, the day after the NFL regular season ends and when coaches get fired.

Likely to get the ax next week are Jeff Fisher of the Titans, John Fox of Carolina, Gary Kubiak of the Houston, Marvin Lewis of Cincinnati, Eric Mangini of Cleveland and Tony Sparano of Miami.

Here are snippets from the blogsphere about the six: Fox is out at Carolina, but the Giants reportedly like him if Tom Coughlin is canned and Bill Cowher does not want the job.

Cowher’s people are leaking Miami is a possible spot for their guy, or maybe Houston.

Mike Holmgren will dump Mangini in Cleveland, possibly in favor of Jon Gruden, or maybe returning to coaching himself.

Marvin Lewis’ contract is up in Cincinnati, where he’s been asked to do everything from act as general manager and chief scout to dean of discipline.

Word is he’s tired of the headaches, content to sit a year or two, then return as someone’s defensive coordinator.

Fisher is believed to be prime television analyst material. Kubiak was supposed to be the next Mike Shanahan, which may not be all good.

Sparano can’t go 1-7 at home with losses to Buffalo and Detroit in his final two games before home fans.
