PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A fire at a Portland substation left roughly 2,000 Pacific Power customers without electricity Thursday morning.

Portland fire Lt. Allen Oswalt says Pacific Power shut down the electrical substation south of the Fremont Bridge so firefighters could extinguish the blaze.

Power company officials hope to have the lights back on by about 9 a.m.

The fire was reported at about 4 a.m.
