Two women were injured Friday afternoon in a traffic collision at 50th Avenue and SR-502 in Battle Ground, the Washington State Patrol said.

Police said that a Nissan pickup driven by 19-year-old Tamara Olney failed to yield at the intersection as she traveled southbound on 50th Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Olney struck the passenger’s side door of 34-year-old Darcie Lindemood’s Honda Accord as she went through the intersection heading east on SR-502, totaling both cars, police said.

Lindemood reported neck and back pain and suffered a cut on her right hand and knee, and was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center. Olney suffered an abrasion on her left hip and was treated on scene.

Olney was cited for failure to yield and for not having insurance. Both women were wearing seat belts and alcohol or drugs did not appear to be involved, police said.
